We walk to raise awareness

We had a lovely weekend. On Saturday, we spent some time at my sister's house playing with our nieces and nephew. We had a great time running around with the kids and playing sports outside. Our niece Kayla had a travel soccer game in the morning, and she was so excited to tell us that she had scored a goal. 

We participated in the Sunday American Heart Association Heart Walk at Jones Beach on Long Island. The event raises money for research on Heart Disease and Stroke. Heart Disease and Stroke is a cause that is near and dear to our family. My sister Michele and her husband brought our nieces and nephew to the walk, and my dad came also. We had so much fun on the walk. They had a ton of activities for the kids before the walk. They got to paint pumpkins, do sand art and play sports, among other things. The walk itself was 3.1 miles on the boardwalk along the beautiful beach. We did it in a pretty good time, and all felt great about supporting heart disease and stroke, a cause affecting many people worldwide.
