Lakehouse weekend

We had a great weekend before Anthony returned to school; well, staff school two weeks before the students return after labor day.

We love coming to the lakehouse with our family, but everyone had plans this weekend, so we had the house to ourselves and our pups Ranger and Iggy. They love being here, taking walks around the lake, and Ranger loves to swim, which is strange because his breed dislikes the water. The weather was a little cool. It felt like fall on Saturday, so we went into town to the craft fair. It is neet to see what the local artists and craft makers come up with. We bought a beautiful handmade blanket and a large chocolate chip cookie from a local backer. Later in the day, the wind died down, and I could take my standup paddleboard out on the lake, and Anthony took a quick swim - the water was warm, but the air was chilly. We made dinner and then played Rummikub, a game I have been playing for as long as I can remember. I used to play with my grandmother at this house when I was growing up.  

Sunday was a beautiful day. The sun was shining and much warmer than Friday and Saturday. We enjoyed paddleboarding, swimming, and long walks with the dogs. We decided to stay one more day since today will be another beautiful day. I have to get a little bit of work done, and then I can enjoy the rest of the day - Anthony starts work on Tuesday, so it worked out. We will head home later tonight, maybe around 8 or so.
